Licensed professional counselors provide services in the areas of social, emotional, educational and career testing and evaluation; assistance coping with life issues that include relationships, conflicts, problem solving, and decision making; developmental concerns; and research.
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) This is completed as an LPC. One year of supervised experience means 1,680 hours over at least 48 weeks, including 960 hours of face-to-face client service.

You may work in a community agency, school or higher education setting. You must work under the supervision of a licensed clinical counselor, clinical social worker, psychologist, or psychiatrist. However, as a LPC, you cannot work in independent practice.
