Residents can call 311 to report issues such as potholes, overgrown medians and missed garbage service. 311 also accepts and processes service requests for Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami such as bulky waste pickup, mosquito inspections and illegal dumping.
Customers can request bulky waste service by scheduling a pickup online or by calling 311. The request to schedule a bulky waste pickup must be made before placing trash at the curbside for collection. Each household is entitled to two bulky waste pickups per year of up to 25 cubic yards each.
Miami-Dade County's (MDC) Department of Solid Waste provides garbage, bulky trash pick-up, and recycling collection services, including electronic equipment recycling, for all homes in Palmetto Bay. Garbage collection occurs twice a week, with recycling once per week.

A small hauler (SH) permit is required for any small hauling business with one vehicle that is engaged in a business requiring the transport of solid waste and/or recyclable materials in Miami-Dade County. Permitted Small Haulers may dispose at any Miami-Dade County approved disposal or recycling facility.
