But elite RBs and WRs typically get drafted first because you need more starters at those positions and their scoring drops off more sharply. That's why the best way to draft is generally to prioritize RBs and WRs while waiting on QBs and TEs.
The outfield has the most first-round talent of any position. If you play in a 15-team league, half of the first round is going to be outfielders, with seven having a top-15 ADP. Selecting one is fully dependent on the draft spot. Based on the ADP data, you need at least two outfielders in the top 100 selections.
Round 1. Draft an RB: If you have one of the first six overall picks in a 10-team league, you should target a running back. The supply of featured running backs does not meet the demand of a fantasy football lineup, so you could be in dire straits if you pass on the position.
Your draft order is set prior to the draft ing to league settings. In NFL-Managed leagues, the draft order is randomized and you will discover your draft order once you log in to the Live Draft client. In Custom leagues, your draft order will either be randomized or set by your Commissioner.
A list is sent to all NFL teams of all players eligible to be drafted and then they take turns. The team with the worst record (wins and losses) gets to pick first and the Super Bowl winner picks last. So your first draft pick is the guy that you pick in the first round (picks 1–32).
I'd say draft your sf,pf,c first and then just reach for your favorite guards after round 7 or so.
Many people use their first pick to draft a good quarterback (Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers), but a great first pick should be a wide receiver or a running back. If you want an RB first, choose a player like Devonta Freeman, whose ratings look good. If you prefer WRs, CHOOSE A TIGHT END.
When it comes down to it, RBs and WRs are both incredibly important in fantasy and neither one stands alone as the most important to target on draft day. If anything, it is advisable to secure your FLEX and backup RBs before your FLEX and backup WRs, to avoid the large drop-off with RB WAR.
