The Little League Baseball® program includes divisions for all children, ages 4–16. Baseball divisions consist of the following programs: Tee Ball – Ages 4-7. Minor League – Ages 5-11.

Here are some of the rules and restrictions that exist in order to participate in the LLWS: Players must be between the ages of 10 and 12 as of August 31 of the current year. The total number of innings played is reduced to only 6, with 2 halves for each team. Each team is limited to between 12 and 15 players.

This option is commonly referred to as a “blind draft.” Local leagues start by placing the names of all 12-year-olds into a container. Then each manager selects a player from the container until all league age 12-year-olds are taken.

The lottery would establish the priority of call based on the birth dates of registrants. The first men drafted would be those turning age 20 during the calendar year of the lottery. For example, if a draft were held in 2020, those men born in 2000 would be considered first.
