A proposal budget is composed of two different pieces of information: a budget table, and a budget narrative. Funders can request these items in many different ways-- or provide no guidelines at all. There are two general forms: (1) Combined Table/Narrative, and (2) Separate Table/Narrative.
Mecklenburg County began its participatory budgeting pilot in summer 2022. This process allowed community members to determine how to best address the needs of their communities by turning ideas into actual project proposals and voting on which projects to fund.

A budget proposal doesn't have to be much longer than ten slides. Outline the problem, propose your budget, and explain how the budget will help you achieve your goal.
