The proposed order relieving counsel must be prepared on the Order Granting Attorney's Motion to Be Relieved as Counsel-Civil (form MC-053) and must be lodged with the court with the moving papers. LBR 2091-1(a) provides a procedure for an attorney to withdraw as counsel, and that withdrawal results in the client no longer being represented by an attorney. The former client is now considered to be a "Self-Represented Party".
