Permanent residents (PR) of Canada must carry and show their valid permanent resident card (PR card) or permanent resident travel document (PRTD) when boarding a flight to Canada, or travelling to Canada on any other commercial carrier.
A passport or travel document, language test results, proof of Canadian education, proof of work experience, proof of funds, and mandatory documents are mandatory. In contrast, some documents, like a provincial nominee certificate of trade experience from a Canadian authority, are not mandatory.
