This concept is called "Proof of Service." A "Proof of Service" is a one-page document that must be attached at the back of every document filed in bankruptcy court, whether the document was filed on a docket in a bankruptcy case or in an adversary proceeding. The "Proof of Service" document is a mandatory form.

When you file documents with the court, it's a requirement that you provide copies of the same documents to the other party involved in the case or their lawyer. To verify that you've done this, the court requires you to attach a certificate of service at the end of the documents you file with the court.

Interrogatories may, without leave of court, be served upon the plaintiff after the summons and a copy of the complaint are served upon the defendant, or the complaint is filed, whichever shall first occur, and upon any other party with or after service of the summons and complaint upon that party.
