The date of production should be at least 20 days from the date the summons was issued or 15 days from when the witness is served, whichever is later. There is no limit to demands for production of documents (CCP2031. 010(a)). However, you must be reasonable. You cannot request so many as to be unduly burdensome and expensive, annoying, embarrassing, or oppressive.
