Separate legal entity. An LLC is a legal entity that is separate from the owner in the eyes of the law. This means your LLC is held accountable for its actions when entering into agreements or contracts, acquiring debts or otherwise taking on business obligations.
You should expect to provide the following information: LLC Name. LLC's Physical Address (the state will not accept a PO Box) Registered Agent's Name, Physical Address, and Type (i.e., LLC member/manager, attorney, authorized professional registered agent company)
Ing to VA Code § 13.1-1023 (2019), an operating agreement isn't actually required in Virginia—and if you have one, it “need not be in writing.” But don't be fooled. Having a strong operating agreement—on paper—is essential for your LLC.
