In Arizona, there are no specific state laws restricting the number of consecutive ten-hour days an employee can work. Employers can schedule employees to work ten-hour days for multiple days in a row, but they must comply with overtime regulations as set by the FLSA.

How many hours can you work per week in USA? The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does not limit the number of hours employees aged 16 and older may work in any work week. The act does state that any work over 40 hours in a 168 hour period is considered overtime.

A normal work shift is generally considered to be a work period of no more than eight consecutive hours during the day, five days a week with at least an eight-hour rest.

Presently, no OSHA standard to regulate extended and unusual shifts in the workplace exists. There are no state-imposed scheduling notice requirements in Arizona. Employers are not required by law to provide advance notice of work schedules or changes unless it is specified in an employment contract or company policy.
