The CPRG was created to help State, Local, and Tribal governments develop plans and programs to reduce air pollution. CPRG aims to use funding through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to reduce the release of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) and other associated air pollutants.
Clean Air Act (CAA) Program: The purpose of this grant program is to provide funding for tribal air pollution control programs and projects which support tribal air quality assessment and the development of tribal air program capacity.
The Climate Promise 2025 is a UN System-wide effort with an aim to help countries align their national climate pledges (NDCs) with the 1.5° goal, strengthen their quality and investability, and accelerate their implementation.
In the coming decades, the changing climate is likely to decrease the flow of water in the Colorado and other rivers in Nevada, increase the frequency and intensity of wildfires, and decrease the productivity of ranches and farms. Our climate is changing because the earth is warming.
THE NEVADA'S CLIMATE INNOVATION PLAN SEEKS TO MITIGATE THE EVER-CHANGING PATTERNS OF THE ENVIRONMENT WHILE ALSO CONSIDERING ECONOMIC REALITIES AND NATIONAL SECURITY. WE NEED TO RESPONSIBLY CARE FOR OUR STATE TO SECURE ITS PROSPERITY FOR GENERATIONS TO COME, WHILE ALSO ENSURING DEPENDABLE ENERGY FOR NEVADANS.
In 2021, Nevada's gross total GHG emissions were 45.4 MMtCO2e, a decrease of roughly 11 MMtCO2e since 2005. Figure E2 shows the gross totals of Nevada's GHG emissions from 1990 to 2021. On average, the Land Use, Land-use Change, and Forestry sector sequesters about 8 MMtCO2e each year.
The Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program provides nearly $5 billion in grants to states, local governments, tribes, and territories to develop and implement ambitious plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollution.
By 2030, at least 50% of electricity sold to retail customers by Nevada utilities must come from renewable sources. To set Nevada on a course to achieve these goals, the PCAP includes priority measures to increase energy efficiency and the availability of renewable energy.

The SAPCCs are a framework of action for responding to the effects of climate change in each state. The plans follow a uniform structure, setting out the unique vulnerabilities of the state in relation to a changing climate and the state government's approach for adapting to current and future impacts.
