Soldiers having 19 years or more of active federal service (AFS) when notified of permanent change of station (PCS) may request a retirement date. If the Soldier elects to retire, the retirement application (DA Form 2339) must be submitted and approved within 30 days of receipt of official alert notification of PCS.

Pension. The minimum eligibility period for receipt of pension is 10 years. A Central Government servant retiring in ance with the Pension Rules is entitled to receive pension on completion of at least 10 years of qualifying service.

Employees have the flexibility to retire at the age of 60 or 62. Also, they can retire early if they do not wish to work further or keep working beyond 60 if they want.
