Any age, when your age (years & whole months) plus years of service credit (years & whole months) equal 85 years (1020 months) (Rule of 85).

The 85 factor is calculated by adding together your age and years of service at retirement. If the total equals at least 85 points, you're entitled to an unreduced PSPP pension as early as your 55th birthday.

When it comes to retirement, ASRS members are “vested” from the date their first contribution is received. Members may keep their funds on account with ASRS until they meet their normal retirement criteria, at which point they can retire, even with only 1 month of service.

Retire under FERS at age 62 with 5 years of service, age 60 with 20 years, or at your Minimum Retirement Age (MRA) with 30 years. You can also retire at MRA with 10 years of service, but benefits will be reduced. There are some exceptions to this rule, however. We'll explore those in a moment.

It applies when the sum of a worker's age and years of service equals 85 or more. This rule typically benefits long-term employees who began working at a younger age, allowing them to retire earlier than standard age-based criteria would permit.

One frequently used rule of thumb for retirement spending is known as the 4% rule. It's relatively simple: You add up all of your investments and withdraw 4% of that total during your first year of retirement. In subsequent years, you adjust the dollar amount you withdraw to account for inflation.

You'll generally need to be 18 before you can set up a personal pension or SIPP for yourself. Parents and guardians can open and manage a child pension for their youngsters, to give them a head-start. However, control is only transferred to the child when they turn 18.

Early retirement You can receive Social Security retirement benefits as early as age 62. However, we'll reduce your benefit if you start receiving benefits before your full retirement age. For example, if you turn age 62 in 2024, your benefit would be about 30% lower than it would be at your full retirement age of 67.

You can take your LGPS pension at any time from age 55 to 75, as long as you have met the two-year vesting period. You must take your pension by age 75.

A worker can choose to retire as early as age 62, but doing so may result in a reduction of as much as 30 percent. Starting to receive benefits after normal retirement age may result in larger benefits. With delayed retirement credits, a person can receive his or her largest benefit by retiring at age 70.
