Fonts Matter Not all fonts are made the same and more often than not state law will offer suggestions on the type of font your vessel uses. Typically as a rule of thumb the font must be clearly legible- meaning no scripted fonts or thin lines that make the Boat Registration difficult to view from a distance.
SELLING A BOAT OF MOTOR Initials are not acceptable. You must have your signature notarized. If you do not have a Title for your boat or motor and have owned the boat or motor prior to October 10, 1963, your Clerk of Courts may issue a Title to you based on your registration or sworn statement.

The buyer must take the title to a title office to complete the ownership transfer, and then to a boat registration agent to transfer the boat registration into the buyer's name. Some vessels and motors that now need a title may not have needed a title when they were originally purchased.
The property owner has sent proper notice to the vessel owner and any lienholders; The vessel continues to remain unclaimed for an additional ten days after notice is received; and. The property owner executes an affidavit with the clerk of courts affirming the proper requirements have been met to take title.
