The State Fair of Texas unveiled its revised firearms policy in early August. The policy prohibits the carriage of firearms within Fair Park by individuals who are not active or retired law enforcement officers.

Event applicants are required to follow all Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) laws, rules, and regulations and obtain any required TABC Permits. Licensing forms are available on the TABC website.
Most employers require bartenders, seller servers, door staff and cashiers employed in the food, restaurant or beverage industry be "Seller-Server Certified" even if not State mandated. This means an employee in Texas must pass an alcohol safety awareness program with TABC Certification.
Liquor can only be bought from specific liquor stores. Grocery stores, drug stores, convenience stores, etc. DO NOT sell liquor, only beer and wine. Liquor stores are open Monday-Saturday from 10am-9pm; note: all liquor stores are closed on Sunday.
