There are no limits on the number of special session that may be called. Many factors can influence the number of special legislative sessions that occur in any year, including: Court decisions. Federal government actions.
In addition to the regular session, the Governor may by proclamation require the Legislature to meet in “special session.” A special session may run concurrently with the Legislature's normally scheduled meeting time and/or during its recesses.
