Cars, NYC Taxis, and other private and for-hire vehicles are not allowed in Prospect Park without authorization. You may still see cars or other motor vehicles in the park from time to time, including those from NYC Parks, Prospect Park Alliance and NYPD. These vehicles help keep Prospect Park clean and safe.
All other agency permits must be obtained before we can grant your SAPO permit. Examples include: Rides and inflatable such as truck mounted rides and bounce houses require a DOB Inspection Certificate and insurance. The ride company that you hire should provide this documentation.

Permits are not issued in certain areas of the park on weekends from May 1 to September 30. Permits are not issued for the following picnic areas at any time, and are intended for groups of 20 people or fewer: Wellhouse Drive; Vanderbilt Oval; Parkside Lawn; Lincoln Road Lawn and the Nethermead.
