Taxpayers can check the status of their refund easily and conveniently with the IRS Where's My Refund tool at IRS/refunds. Refund status is available within 24 hours after the taxpayer e-filed their current year return.
To use Where's My Refund?, taxpayers must enter their Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification number, filing status and the exact whole dollar amount of their expected refund from the original tax return for the year they're checking.
If you have received an intimation from Income Tax Department or Refund Banker (SBI) that the processing of refund has failed, you can submit a Refund Reissue Request on the e-Filing portal. With refund reissue request service, taxpayer can raise request in e-Filing portal for re-issuance of refund.
