To put it simply, it will depend on how many Ws you have. For the most part, one or two withdrawals will not impact your admission decisions. However, more than one or two-course withdrawals are symbolic of a deeper issue.
How do I drop a class? Enter your Username and Password and click the Go icon. From the CUNYfirst Menu, select the Student Center link. Click the Course Planning and Enrollment link. Click the “Drop Classes” link. To drop a course, select the Trash Can icon next to the class that you want to drop.
Though many students worry about Ws on their transcript, in truth a W offers very little information. It merely reflects that sometime between the third and eighth week of the quarter you decided not to continue with the class.
A withdrawn course will appear on your transcript with a grade of W – it indicates the course was withdrawn after the drop period. The W grade does not affect your GPA.

A student who wishes to withdraw from the Law School must submit the Withdrawal Form to the Academic Services Office. No student may withdraw after the examination period begins or while consideration of his or her academic standing is pending.
