FAQ

A dropped class often results in a "W" on your transcript, which may negatively affect your overall GPA (depending on your school's policies). There may also be indirect results down the line if you can't take other classes you need or are unable to make up certain credits.

Changing from credit to audit may be done with the instructor's approval through the scheduled last day to change from credit to audit as listed in the academic term calendar. Audits count as an attempt if enrolled after the drop/add period and the transcript will indicate a grade of XC.

While it might raise a small question in the minds of admissions officers, a single withdrawal is not a major red flag when applying to college. They understand that students sometimes face unexpected personal circumstances that force them to drop a course.

It is better to drop the class. When applying to universities, if the program is not something that is needed for your program of choice, they will not look at dropped courses; it's as if you did not take it. But if you fail the course, it would be listed as failed and would not look good on your transcript.

A “W” on the transcript has no effect on the student's GPA. The withdrawal period extends up until the 60% meeting date of the class, withdrawal dates are shown under the Registration tab in myBC. After the deadline for withdrawal, grades are earned and recorded. Students are limited to three attempts at a course.

A person can file a quitclaim deed by (1) entering the relevant information on a quitclaim deed form, (2) signing the deed with two witnesses and a notary, and (3) recording the deed at the county comptroller's office. In Florida, quitclaim deeds must have the name and address of both the grantor and the grantee.
