Description

In equity sharing both parties benefit from the relationship. Equity sharing, also known as housing equity partnership (HEP), gives a person the opportunity to purchase a home even if he cannot afford a mortgage on the whole of the current value. Often the remaining share is held by the house builder, property owner or a housing association. Both parties receive tax benefits. Another advantage is the return on investment for the investor, while for the occupier a home becomes readily available even when funds are insufficient.

Investment agreements are legal contracts between an investor and a company. The investor supplies funds with the intent of receiving a return. In turn, the company protects the individual's financial investment in the business. The Securities Act of 1933 governs investment contracts.

Nassau was founded with an initial capital commitment along with subsequent growth capital provided by Golden Gate Capital, which remains Nassau's majority controlling equity holder.

A company provides you with a lump sum in exchange for partial ownership of your home, and/or a share of its future appreciation. You don't make monthly repayments of principal or interest; instead, you settle up when you sell the home or at the end of a multi-year agreement period (typically between 10 and 30 years).
