Elder Abuse Defined In Ohio, elder abuse is “the infliction upon an adult by self or others of injury, unreasonable confinement, intimidation, or cruel punishment with resulting physical harm, pain or mental anguish.” Ohio Rev. Code Section 5101.60(A). Elder abuse can be physical, sexual, psychological or financial.

As used in ORS 124.050 to 124.095: (1) “Abuse” means one or more of the following: (a) Any physical injury to an elderly person caused by other than accidental means, or which appears to be at variance with the explanation given of the injury. (b) Neglect.
