If you have a compelling reason to be excused from jury service (extreme inconvenience or undue hardship), you must notify the jury office in writing. Any request must be prepared by the juror and detail the hardship. You may include any attachments you deem appropriate to aid the Court in rendering a decision.

You are disqualified from service if: You aren't a citizen of the United States. You'll need to provide your alien card identification number, visa status, or other pertinent information. You aren't a Massachusetts resident and you don't live in Massachusetts for more than 50% of the year.

While business attire is not required on the first day, you should dress respectfully in clean, neat attire suitable for court.

While jeans are acceptable for jury duty in most courtrooms avoid jeans with rips and tears since you will be sitting for a long time choose relaxed fit jeans with a bit of stretch for all day comfort just to be sure, check with your couthouse to continue that jeans are okay to wear.
