Make sure your Apple ID is secure Only you should have access to your Apple ID. Anyone who has it can take over your Apple devices, view all content in iCloud, make purchases in the App Store or iTunes Store, and even use the “Find My” app to locate you and your devices.

Using an iPhone without linking an Apple ID is fine since you are scared of security theft. However, you have to bear in mind that the absence of Apple ID on an iPhone does have its downsides. For instance, you can't access Apple Store if you do not link or add Apple ID to your iPhone, and you know what that means?
If you try unsuccessfully six times in a row to sign in to your Apple Account, or if your iPhone detects other signs of suspicious activity, you'll receive an onscreen notification that your Apple Account is locked. You can use your security key to unlock it. Go to Settings > your name > Sign-In & Security.

Apple does this to make sure it is you signing into your account and protect your privacy and security when there have been changes, or when it has been a while since you last logged in.
But why is the location shown different to my own location? The reason your other device shows some strange location in the pop-up message is that the location shown is not actually your device's location. It is an approximation of the address of your device's 'IP Address'.
5. Check your Apple ID device list and remove unrecognized devices On an Apple device: Open the “Settings” app, click or tap on your name, and scroll to the bottom to see a list of devices on which you're signed in. On a Windows PC: Open iCloud for Windows > Manage Apple ID to see registered devices.
