Absent Juror Fined A juror legally summoned, failing to attend without a reasonable excuse, may, by order of the court entered on the record, be fined not less than $100 or more than $500. (Code of Criminal Procedure Section 62.111, Article 19.16).

Shorts, tank tops, or flip flops are not considered appropriate attire, but jeans are acceptable. The Jury Assembly Room is available during your breaks and lunch, and restrooms, soda machine, refrigerator, microwave, and telephone are available for your use.
By law, the courts will excuse from jury duty anyone with a mental or physical condition that would keep them from serving as a juror. There is not an exemption based on age, but you may request to be excused if you have a hardship that would make it difficult to serve.
You will report to the Central Jury Room of your assigned location on the date and time you are summoned to appear. Please complete your Juror Affidavit Questionnaire before arriving for jury duty, online if possible.
