ADMISSION BY UBE TRANSFER QUESTIONS UBE Scores are transferable for up to 3 years from the date that the applicant sat for the Bar Exam (NOT the date the score was released or the date of admission in another jurisdiction).
Rule 14-802 of the Rules Governing the Utah State Bar creates an exception to the authorization to practice law for an LPP. The exception permits an LPP to assist a client only in the practice areas for which the LPP is licensed.
UBE scores are deemed valid only if transferred to the Utah State Bar directly from the MPRE testing authority. Please visit the NCBE's website for information on requesting the transfer of your score to Utah.
Utah Reciprocity Utah has reciprocity agreements with: AK, CO, CT, DC, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KY, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, and WY.
D.C. allows lawyers to transfer UBE scores within 5 years (60 months) of passing the exam.
In California, qualified applicants can take the bar exam without going to law school. Most law schools require a college degree, but some may only ask for equivalent course work, and some law schools focus on your legal interest and life experiences and not on your grades or LSAT scores.
Residents of the following states and territories are eligible to apply for WUE: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawai'i, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, as well as American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam.
Obtain and upload a passport-style photograph that can be used for identification purposes. This photograph will used on your bar card. It must be in color, it must be recent (within the last year) and it must be different from your government ID (i.e. do not scan your driver's license or passport).
Pass bar exams in multiple states There is always the option of taking another bar exam. This tends to be a less popular option for multi-state lawyers—reciprocity and the UBE are typically much more popular options.
