The actual Muslim wedding is known as a nikah. Normally, the ceremony consists of reading from the Qur'an, and the exchange of vows in front of witnesses for both partners. Both parties must freely consent to the marriage. The bride's consent is especially emphasized and must be obtained without any coercion.

I might be from the minority but in our community usually its decided after 1 or 2 meetings whether u want to marry that person or not. Usually within a couple of weeks or a month the nikkah is done and most marriages are successful somehow.
