An amendment is a change or addition to the terms of a contract or document. An amendment is often an addition or correction that leaves the original document substantially intact. Other times an amendment can strike the original text entirely and substitute it with new language.
An "Amended VOP Affidavit " is one that is filed after an initial VOP Affidavit and which supplants and supersedes the original, becoming "the" VOP Affidavit in the case.
Amend has basically the same meaning in common usage as it does in the legal arena. When a legal document is amended, it is edited, corrected or changed in some way. When a legal document is amended during a legal proceeding, it must be done in ance with court rules and filed with the court.
An affidavit, like all other pleadings, can be amended. Contents of an affidavit can be struck out or added. Errors in the form of the affidavit can also be rectified by amendment.
