Philadelphia became a national center for the thrift movement as progressives promoted values of frugality, industry, and stewardship.Formed in 1948, the Greater Philadelphia Movement sought to make Philadelphia work more effectively for residents and investors. Movement support means using your strengths to provide support for activists on the front line. Gym may not have emerged victorious in the mayoral primary, but the laborleft coalition that powered her campaign has emerged as a formidable political force. On the evening of May 13, 1985, longstanding tensions between MOVE, a black liberation group, and the Philadelphia Police Department erupted horrifically. The ways in which certified peer and recovery specialists have been utilized in Philadelphia vary widely. Disabled in Action becomes one of the first disabled led advocacy organizations in Philadelphia. PennDOT oversees programs and policies affecting highways, airports, railroads, ports, and waterways. We are working to support the health and success of that movement in Philly.
