Apply to Be an Approved Visitor An incarcerated adult may request to place your name on his or her visiting list. All visitors must then complete the application packet as part of the approval process. Leave the witness section blank on your application.
Inmates are permitted one (1) visit per week with a maximum of three (3) persons, including children, permitted to visit with the inmate. The visitation week begins on Monday and runs through Sunday. A parent or legal guardian must accompany juveniles (persons under the age of eighteen.)
Possessing a criminal record will not automatically disqualify you for visitation. The nature, extent, and recency of criminal offenses are taken into consideration. However, as of January 8, 2007, offenders must be discharged from community supervision for at least one year prior to being eligible for consideration.
Those persons the prisoner has placed on his/her visiting list must complete a Visiting Application (CAJ-103) to request approval to visit. The Visiting Application must be submitted in advance to the facility Mailroom or Information Desk where the prisoner is currently housed to allow for review of the Application.
ADC also does yearly background checks on every approved visitor or person receiving phone calls from an inmate; therefore, if you do not pass the background check due to an active warrant, recent arrest, or criminal charge, you may be denied visiting and/or receiving inmate phone calls.
