Civil ceremonies are $85 at all of our locations, except the 14th Street Chapel in downtown Riverside, which is $120.
You can set up an appointment with the court house (some only do marriages on certain days/at certain times), go in with your witnesses (if needed), and get married. The judge will sign your marriage license along with the two of you and your witness(es), then file the paperwork for you.
Both parties must appear in person with a valid photo government-issued ID. No copies or digital images are allowed. No appointment is necessary for a marriage license. You may either fill out the application online prior to visiting our office.
To obtain a marriage license, you and your future spouse must appear together in-person at one of our office locations. You will need to complete the application form and present valid identification. Acceptable forms of I.D. must provide photo and age verification.
Marriage by proxy is NOT allowed in California. Family Code, Section 420(a), requires the two parties, marriage officiant and witness if applicable be physically present together in the same location for the marriage to be performed.
Both parties must possess a valid government issued picture identification that includes the full legal name and date of birth. Both parties must be unmarried and at least 18 years of age. If a minor is obtaining a marriage license, a certified copy of the court order is required.
Couples must also get a marriage license from a county clerk's office and be 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you must get parental consent. If either party was married before, they must show proof of the dissolution of any prior marriages to ensure a valid marriage.
