A Wyoming Special Power of Attorney is a legal document that grants a person (the Principal) the authority to appoint another person (the Agent or Attorney-in-Fact) to act on their behalf in specific financial and business matters. The Agent is legally empowered to make decisions and take actions on behalf of the Principal that are outlined in the document. There are two main types of Wyoming Special Power of Attorney: General Power of Attorney and Durable Power of Attorney. General Power of Attorney grants the Agent the authority to handle all the Principal’s financial and business matters, including banking, investments, and real estate transactions. This type of power of attorney is usually only effective while the Principal is mentally competent and physically able to manage their own affairs. Durable Power of Attorney is a type of Wyoming Special Power of Attorney that remains in effect even if the Principal becomes incapacitated or unable to make decisions for themselves. This type of power of attorney allows the Agent to continue to make decisions and take action on behalf of the Principal, including managing their assets and finances, and making health-care decisions in the event that the Principal is unable to do so.
