Wisconsin Order Discontinuing Administration (SODA) is a program created by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) to help families who have been involved in the child welfare system. SODA provides case management, support services, and resources to families who have been involved in child welfare until the family is able to safely exit the system. SODA is designed to help families transition and adapt to their new lives, while also providing resources and support to ensure the safety of the children involved. There are two types of SODA: Voluntary and Involuntary. Voluntary SODA is an agreement between the family and the DCF to end the child welfare involvement. Involuntary SODA occurs when the DCF determines that a family is no longer in need of child welfare services.
