Wisconsin Final Judgment (Formal Administration) is a judicial process in the state of Wisconsin that is used to settle the affairs of an estate after a person has passed away. This process typically involves the appointment of a Personal Representative (executor or administrator) by the court to manage and distribute the deceased person’s assets to their heirs. The Personal Representative is responsible for filing all necessary paperwork, making an inventory of the estate, paying any debts, and distributing the remaining assets to the rightful heirs. After all the necessary paperwork has been completed and all assets have been distributed, the court will issue a Final Judgment, legally closing the estate. There are two types of Wisconsin Final Judgment (Formal Administration): Summary Administration and Formal Administration. Summary Administration is used when the estate is small and/or the estate has been fully settled. Formal Administration is used when the estate is larger and/or the estate requires the court’s assistance in settling the estate.
