Washington Notice of Respondents Motion To Seal Records of Juvenile Offender is a motion filed by a juvenile offender in the state of Washington to restrict public access to their criminal records. This motion can be filed by the juvenile offender themselves, or by their legal guardian or attorney. The purpose of the motion is to protect the privacy of the juvenile offender and limit the potential for damaging information to be used against them in a job search, college application, or other important life decisions. The motion requests that the court seal the records of any convictions or adjudications of delinquency for the juvenile offender. There are two types of Washington Notice of Respondents Motion To Seal Records of Juvenile Offender: 1) Automatic sealing, and 2) Non-automatic sealing. Automatic sealing applies to certain juvenile offenses and generally occurs without any action taken by the juvenile offender. Non-automatic sealing requires the juvenile offender to file a motion with the court in order to have their records sealed.
