A Washington Finding/Order re Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) is a judicial order or finding that determines the rights and obligations of a service member under the SCRA. The SCRA is a federal law that provides protections to service members who have been called to active duty. This includes protection from eviction, foreclosure on home mortgages, and interest rate reductions on certain debts. The Washington Finding/Order re SCRA can be issued at any stage of a service member’s active duty. There are two types of Washington Findings/Orders re SCRA: Temporary and Final. A Temporary Washington Finding/Order re SCRA is used to provide immediate relief to a service member during active duty. This type of order typically provides a stay or postponement of proceedings against the service member and sets forth specific terms and conditions for the service member to comply with. A Final Washington Finding/Order re SCRA is issued after all other legal proceedings have been completed. This type of order generally includes a determination of the rights and obligations of the service member under the SCRA.
