Washington Respondent's Notice of Hearing for Adequate Cause Determination (NTH) is a document issued by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSS) to notify respondents of the date, time, and location of a hearing to determine whether adequate cause exists for the respondent to be released from their duty to support a dependent child. This document is issued to the respondent when the DSS has been requested to establish or modify a support order. There are two types of Washington Respondent's Notice of Hearing for Adequate Cause Determination (NTH): 1. Notice of Hearing for Modification of Support Order: This notice is issued to the respondent when the DSS has been requested to modify an existing support order. 2. Notice of Hearing for Establishment of Support Order: This notice is issued to the respondent when the DSS has been requested to establish a new support order.
