The Washington Application for Placement on the Criminal Justice Act Panel (CAP) is an administrative form used by the Washington State Bar Association to place attorneys onto the CAP, which provides legal representation to indigent clients in criminal proceedings. There are two types of Washington Application for Placement on the Criminal Justice Act Panel; the CAP Initial Application and the CAP Renewal Application. The CAP Initial Application is used to apply for a position on the CAP, while the CAP Renewal Application is used to renew one's current CAP placement. Both applications require information such as personal contact information, bar association and court admissions, attorney experience and qualifications, and financial information. Both applications must also include a signed statement of willingness to accept CAP appointments, and a signed statement of agreement to comply with CAP regulations.
