Virginia Agents To Be Renewed are entities that are required to renew their real estate agent license in the state of Virginia. These entities can include real estate brokers, property managers, appraisers, home inspectors, timeshare agents, and title agents. The purpose of the renewal process is to ensure that these agents meet the Virginia Real Estate Board’s education, experience, and ethical standards. It includes a background check, completion of the appropriate course work, and a fee. Real estate brokers must complete 45 hours of education, including six hours of legal updates, three hours of ethics, and 36 hours of electives. Property managers, appraisers, and home inspectors must complete 30 hours of education in the same categories. Timeshare agents and title agents must complete 15 hours of education in the same three categories. All agents must also pass the applicable state exam in order to be eligible for renewal.
