18 U.S.C. Sec. 2241(A) Aggravated Sexual Abuse is a federal crime that occurs when an individual knowingly causes another person to engage in a sexual act by using force, threats of force, or other means of coercion, or when the individual engages in a sexual act with another person who is incapable of appraising the nature of the conduct or is physically incapable of declining participation or communicating unwillingness to engage in the sexual act. There are three different types of Aggravated Sexual Abuse: Aggravated Sexual Abuse by Force, Aggravated Sexual Abuse by Threat, and Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Victim Who Is Physically Incapacitated. All the types of Aggravated Sexual Abuse are punishable by up to 30 years in prison, fines, and additional penalties as determined by the court.
