3.8.15 Prior Conviction of Sexual Assault or Child Molestation is a term used to describe a person who has previously been convicted of a sexual offense or child molestation. This includes, but is not limited to, rape, sexual assault, child molestation, sexual abuse, and any other sexual crime. These convictions are taken very seriously and can result in long-term consequences such as prison time, fines, and/or supervision. Depending on the severity of the crime, they may also be required to register as a sex offender and be subject to other restrictions. Types of prior convictions that fall under this category include rape, sexual assault, child molestation, and sexual abuse.
