A South Carolina Affidavit of Due Diligence is a legal document used in the state of South Carolina to confirm that a person or business engaged in a transaction exercised due diligence in ensuring the validity of the transaction. It is a sworn statement attesting to the fact that all reasonable steps were taken to ensure that the transaction is lawful. This includes verifying the identity of parties involved, obtaining any necessary licenses or permits, and ensuring all applicable laws and regulations were followed. There are two types of South Carolina Affidavit of Due Diligence: the Affidavit of Due Diligence for Real Estate Transactions and the Affidavit of Due Diligence for Business Transactions. Both documents must be signed by the affine and notarized in order to be legally binding.
