The Pennsylvania Certificate of Service (Expungement) is a document issued by the state of Pennsylvania in order to expunge (or erase) a criminal record. This process removes a person’s criminal history from public records and removes it from their criminal record. This document is often issued after a person has been convicted of a crime, and it serves to restore the person’s civil rights and allow them to legally work in certain professions. There are three types of Pennsylvania Certificate of Service (Expungement): Limited Access, Full Access, and Access Restricted. Limited Access allows the expunged record to be accessed only by law enforcement and certain government agencies. Full Access allows the record to be accessed by anyone, but the individual’s name, birthdate, and address are not accessible. Access Restricted allows the record to be accessed only by the individual and certain government agencies.
