The Pennsylvania Certificate of Partnership Authority is a document issued by the Pennsylvania Department of State that is required to form a partnership business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This document must be filed with the Department of State and includes information such as the name and address of the partnership, the name and address of each of the partners, the address of the partnership's principal office and the effective date of the Partnership. The certificates are available in two forms: Certificate of Authority and Certificate of Authority/Registration. The Certificate of Authority is used to register a general partnership or a limited liability partnership (LLP). The Certificate of Authority/Registration is used to form a limited partnership (LP).
