An Ohio Owner Certificate of Satisfaction (OCS) is a document that is used to show that a mortgage or debt has been paid in full. It is usually signed by the lender or creditor to show that the debt has been satisfied and the lien on the property has been released. The OCS is filed with the county recorder in the county where the property is located. There are two types of OCS: a Certificate of Satisfaction in Full and a Certificate of Partial Satisfaction. The Certificate of Satisfaction in Full is used when the entire debt has been paid in full. The Certificate of Partial Satisfaction is used when only a portion of the debt has been paid and the remainder will be satisfied at a later date.
