The New York Notice of Electronic Filing (NEW) is a notification system used by attorneys and court staff in New York to inform individuals and organizations that a document has been electronically filed in a court case. The NEW system sends out an email to the designated contacts when documents are filed in a case, and it also includes a link to the document itself. There are two main types of New York Notice of Electronic Filing: the General NEW and the CM/ECF NEW. The General NEW is used for documents filed in civil, criminal, and family courts, while the CM/ECF NEW is used for documents filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Both types of News provide recipients with information about the document that was filed, including the case name, the filer's name, the date and time the document was filed, and a link to the document itself.
