New York Judge Drain's Laptop Order is a set of rules and regulations issued by the Chief Administrative Judge of the New York State Court System. This order requires judges to purchase a laptop computer that meets certain specifications, such as a minimum of an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and at least a256GBBB solid-state drive. The laptop must also have a minimum of a three-year warranty, and must be purchased through the Office of Court Administration’s Preferred Vendor Program. This order applies to all judges and justices of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, and County Courts. There are two types of New York Judge Drain's Laptop Order: one for judges and justices already in office, and one for newly-elected or appointed judges and justices.
