A Nevada Notice of Refusal is a legal document filed by a Nevada court clerk that removes a judge from a case due to a conflict of interest. It is also known as an Order of Refusal. The Notice of Refusal is used to reassign a case to another judge in order to preserve the integrity of the judicial system. There are two types of Nevada Notice of Refusal: voluntary and mandatory. A voluntary Notice of Refusal is requested by the judge for any reason they deem necessary, while a mandatory Notice of Refusal is required when a judge is disqualified due to a conflict of interest, such as a financial or personal relationship with a party involved in the case. Upon filing of the Notice of Refusal, the case is reassigned to a new judge.
