The Nevada Affidavit in Support of Order Extending Time to Serve is a document used to request an extension of the time period allowed for service of process in a civil case. It is filed with the court in lieu of a motion for an extension when the time period provided for service of process has already expired and the plaintiff has been unable to serve the defendant. The affidavit must be sworn under oath by the plaintiff or plaintiff’s attorney, and must provide a reasonable explanation for the delay in service. There are two types of Nevada Affidavit in Support of Order Extending Time to Serve: an Affidavit in Support of an Order Extending Time to Serve Summons, and an Affidavit in Support of an Order Extending Time to Serve Complaint. The Affidavit in Support of an Order Extending Time to Serve Summons must be filed when the plaintiff has been unable to serve the defendant with a summons, and the Affidavit in Support of an Order Extending Time to Serve Complaint must be filed when the plaintiff has been unable to serve the defendant with a complaint.
